About Puppies Under Protection

Puppies Under Protection (P.U.P.) provides foster care for abused, abandoned and neglected moms and pups. P.U.P. is a "Not For Profit" organization that was started in June of 1993 by Jeanne Strack.

Approximately 60 pets a day were being euthanized in Palm Beach County and Jeanne wanted to help. Soon she had over 80 puppies and moms in her own backyard. P.U.P. was started to protect pregnant dogs, nursing moms with babies and orphans. They enter P.U.P. from shelters, private homes, and off the street and are placed in loving homes for foster care.

Foster moms provide food, shelter, medical attention and lots of love to these special guys. In return the foster mom receives twice as much love, and hours of devotion and companionship. All pets are dewormed, current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and microchipped.

Responsible pet owners need to control unwanted animal births. Of the 35 million animals born every year, 13 to 15 million will be destroyed for lack of homes. Many more will become wild by the time they are three years old. Consult your veterinarian on the very real advantages of spaying or neutering!
